Yesterday, Delta ordered 40 jets, Airbus A321s, to "be used mostly on domestic flights." The airline also ordered "10 A330 widebodies that are geared toward long-haul international routes."
Delta will get the planes between 2015 and 2017.
Delta has also announced plans for nonstop flights between Seattle and London. The London flights hold 210 passengers, is a collaboration with Virgin Atlantic and is expected to begin service next spring, March 29.
Delta's current $99 deals are part of the Fall/Winter Deals offered by many major airlines this time of the year.
