It has been a bad year for Chicago police officers. Five officers have been killed so far this year. Now, an offer of $10,000 has been made for the killer of Michael Flisk, a decorated police officer.

Flisk was gunned down on Friday. He was the second officer killed in just this past week. Police officials stated that there has not been a year this bad, in terms of police deaths, since the 1960s.

Former CHA officer also killed

Flisk was a decorated Chicago police officer. On Friday he was gunned down along with a former Chicago Housing Authority officer, Stephen Peters. They were both shot in an alley on the 8100 block of South Manistee. The two men were reportedly discussing a break in on Peters’ automobile which was parked in a nearby garage.

The two men were married and leave behind their wives and children. Flisk was just a few months shy of being on the force for 20 years. Peters, meanwhile, had retired and had experience working with the CHA and on a suburban police force. Peters also had spent time in the U.S. military.

The reward is being offered by the Chicago Police Memorial Fund. Any information leading to the arrest of the killer is appreciated. The number to call is 888-976-7468. Area Two detectives were also in charge of the investigation and are taking leads. Their phone number is 312-747-8272.
