The Chicago Police released a statement today on their website stating that they had made an arrest in the shooting death of evidence technician and Chicago police force veteran, Michael Flisk. Flisk and a retired Chicago Housing Authority Officer, Stephen Peters, were both gunned down in an alley on November 26.

The man charged with the double homicide is a parollee. He is 19-year-old Timothy Herring, who was charged today with 2 counts of first degree murder by the Cook County State’s Attorney.

Second man also charged

Another man, Timothy Willis, 22, was also charged in connection with the crime. He faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of obstruction of justice, according to the press release.

Both men will be appearing in court tomorrow

The statement released on the Chicago Police Department’s website stated that the investigation had been done by several investigative agencies. Local, federal and state law enforcement agencies had acted in cooperation to bring about the arrests. The statement also thanked the local community for coming forward with information leading to the arrests of the two men.

Funeral arrangements for Flisk have now been set with the visitation scheduled for November 30 at the Brady and Gill Funeral Home in Evergreen Park, Illinois. The visitation is expected to run from 3 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday.

The two men were shot while standing in an alley back on November 26. They had been discussing a break-in on Peters’ car. The car was in the garage at the time and the two men were discussing it when the shooting occurred.
