The incident reportedly happened last month when Bigbee supposedly approached a potential buyer with the offer to sell the baby for $75,000. Once the buyer was approached he then reached out to the Florida police. The police and the buyer then worked together to nab Bigbee as she negotiated with the potential buyer down to a price of $30,000
Planned to buy a new car
According to a report by police Bigbee and her boyfriend had finally settled on a price for the sale last Friday. Along with Bigbee, her boyfriend Lawrence Works, 42, was also indicted in the scam. According to police Bigbee told Fleming that the price of the sale was $10,000.
Police then reported that Fleming agreed to the sale. She intended to take $9,000 and then she planned on buying a car with the money.
The child has been taken away from the family and is currently in custody of the Florida Department of Children and Family Services. Fleming is currently incarcerated on other charges. Her bond has been set at $50,000. Bigbee’s bond has been set at $100,000. Working is being held on a $50,000 bond.
