Service restored early Sunday
According to a report from the company to the Baltimore Sun, service was restored late Sunday night. The company reportedly brought in more emergency staff to help resolve the problem.
The Comcast statement also issued an apology to customers: “All other services are working properly. … We certainly apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing our customers.”
As of Monday morning it was not entirely clear just how far the outage had spread. A Comcast representative told the media that there were outages in Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire. However, the “focus” of the outage appeared to be in Boston and Washington D.C.
Comcast also provides cable television as well as phone services. Apparently none of these services were affected by the outage.
