Missing Plainfield, Illinois, girls found safe

The Joliet, Illinois, police have announced that two teenage girls who were reported missing by their families have been found safe at a relative’s home and it now believed that they ran away. Alyssa Lunn and Kaitlyn Burke, both age 14, were reported missing in early November by concerned family members.

The police have now said that the girls were found safe at one of the girl’s relative’s homes. The police now believe that the girls were attempting to run away from home, but no further details as to why have been released.

Police tracked cell phones

According to Joliet police they were able to track the missing girls as they continued to use their cell phones. The girls were returned to their families and reported as safe as sound.

A statement was released by the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 that stated that the two teen girls were “presumed to have run away from home.”
