As the holidays approach, some of fans’ favorite programs are suspending new episodes, until after the rush of Christmas and New Year’s Day. However, Gold Rush fans can look forward to something new tonight and next week, although technically no new “regular” episodes will be aired until January 4, 2013.
Tonight, December 21, fans will get to go behind-the-scenes with their favorite gold miners. It is always fun to see how the camera and production teams struggle at the various sites, as well as get a peek at some of the off-camera—often off-color—tantrums the miners pitch that don’t make it into the “regular” shows. According to the Discovery Channel:
BTS- In this special, exclusive behind the scenes footage capturing the production of the first half of Gold Rush season 3 is revealed. Film crews battle the wilderness in Klondike and Alaska to film every twist and turn at the four mining operations.
Next week, on December 28, fans will get a chance to hear from the wives of the miners, as well as get a sneak peek of the unknown second-half of the “regular” season. According to the Discovery Channel:
Executive Producer Christo Doyle digs deeper into the personal lives of the miners while their wives offer up secrets about their early years. Also included is a special sneak peek of what's ahead in second half of the Gold Rush "Do or Die" season.
Of course, last week, fans got to go behind-the-scenes with Christo Doyle and take the “Tour de Stud” tour of the Big Nugget Mines:
Wow; maybe it IS time for a little break after all.
Gold Rush: Behind the Scenes airs on the Discovery Channel tonight, Friday, December 21, at 9/8c.
