Fans of Gold Rush will be excited to know that Friday night's special, Gold Rush: The Jungle, will be followed up by Gold Rush: Aftershow.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the Discovery Channel special, Gold Rush: The Jungle, premiering this Friday, August 17. But, the fun does not stop there. Following Gold Rush: The Jungle, fans should keep their channels set for Gold Rush: Aftershow.

Todd Hoffman is looking to become a full-time gold miner, and gold mining operations in the Klondike—which must shut down due to the yearly Arctic winds and frozen ground—are not working out for him and his team. So, in search of a claim that could be mined 365 days a year, Hoffman discovered a potential claim in the small South American nation of Guyana. A scouting mission with a loyal team of enthusiastic gold miner wannabes followed, but not everything went according to plan—nothing new for Team Hoffman.

Gold Rush executive producer Christo Doyle hosts Gold Rush: Aftershow, and speaks with Todd Hoffman and crew about the challenges, conflicts and triumphs they faced while scouting in Guyana, and brings to the surface stories never told before. For fans of Gold Rush, the one-hour follow-up special is a must-see, uncovering interesting info about Team Hoffman and the men who are willing to follow their leader seemingly anywhere and everywhere to uncover gold.

Most importantly, during the Aftershow, Todd Hoffman will answer the question that has been provoking conversation after conversation during the off-season of Gold Rush: Will Hoffman uproot his crew from the Klondike and set up shop in Guyana?

Stay tuned.

>Gold Rush: Aftershow premieres on the Discovery Channel this Friday, August 17, at 10 p.m. E/P.
