Lizard Lick Towing: Amy's MMA training creating havoc between husband and wife

Can Amy and Ronnie's relationship survive Amy's determination to train for MMA?

It was another week of hardcore repos at truTVs Lizard Lick Towing this week, starting with a repo from a pet store owner—and snakes. And a lizard. And a really messy house when Ronnie got home.

Last week, Amy declared that she was going back to training at the gym and getting back into MMA. And, apparently, it is causing a bit of unsettling in the Shirley’s lifestyle.

Ronnie had invited Bobby to the Shirley’s house for supper after the pet store repo, but they just found the following note:

“I’m at the gym. You’re going to have to fend for yourself tonight, as I’m training late at the gym. See you later—Amy.”

“She’s always at that stupid gym,” Ronnie said, throwing the note across the room and pacing around the living room.

“I’m going to Mama’s,” Bobby said as he left, “My Mama’s got some supper.”

“Glad somebody does,” Ronnie said.

The next morning, Ronnie was answering phones when Bobby came in for the day.

“She’s at the gym. She ain’t got time for work,” Ronnie said when Bobby asked about Amy. At that point, Ronnie seemed about ready to pull his hair out—well, what little he has, given his—what would you call it? A reverse Mohawk?

Ronnie went down to the gym to pull Amy back to work—and argue with her once again about getting back into MMA—just in time to see Amy’s rival walk into her training gym. The owner threw her out, but that didn’t stop the arguing.

“When we get in a cage, I will show you and I will put you back in your place,” Amy told her. But, as the arguing got more heated, Ronnie stepped in and got punched.

Ronnie and Amy ended up in the fight, however, with Ronnie telling Amy, “I get beat up enough at work. … You do what you want to do. I’m done,” he said, leaving Amy to resume her training at the gym.

The whole fighting idea is weighing heavily on Ronnie. Amy seems perplexed but, as Dave told her, “He’s probably just worried. You know, not every man wants to see his woman get in a fight.”

As far as fights, they had them on their hands with repos last night—Ronnie and Bobby were attacked by the pet store owners, who threw a snake in their truck, and about 10 guys from another repo went to the shop and tried to create a riot situation, attacking Amy who, no surprise, held her own against these oh-so-brave men. But, she hurt her wrist, which led to another argument between the couple about Amy and MMA.

Is MMA Worth It?

“If you can’t support me, don’t even bother coming home tonight,” Amy told Ronnie, leaving. “It’s always Ronnie’s way, right away, anyway, so why should today be any different?”

And, Ronnie did not go home—and he threw the cameras out as he bedded down for the night at Lizard Lick Towing.

Will Amy’s determination to get back into the MMA cage tear her and Ronnie apart? Or, will the Shirleys be able to find some middle ground somewhere?

Stay tuned.

Lizard Lick Towing airs on truTV on Monday nights at 10 p.m.

I think they should pray about it... As a married couple you must find some common ground! Amy should do the fight because thats what makes her happy. Its not to prove a point its something she wants to do for herself and i respect that.

I don't think she should fight. Amy is tough but she is also older and much smaller than this girl, she could get injured bad.
