Sister Wives teens assist anti-polygamy-abuse group HELP

The Browns have brought a positive face to polygamy in America on TLC, but tonight viewers will see another side of polygamy, when the Brown teens work with the anti-polygamy-abuse group, Holding Out HELP: Helping, Encouraging & Loving Polygamists.

The Brown family has been successful in its quest to become a face of polygamy for America, starring on TLCs Sister Wives; whether or not they have succeeded in bringing a positive view on polygamy to the masses is another matter altogether.

This week, in an episode entitled, “Polygamist Cults,” the Brown teens have a new experience, working with anti-polygamy-abuse group, Holding Out HELP: Helping, Encouraging, & Loving Polygamists. According to the Holding Out HELP mission statement:

Holding Out HELP exists to assist those from a polygamous background with the resources necessary to meet their physical, emotional, and educational needs. Primarily we help those transitioning from a polygamist community into an independent and self-sufficient life by providing access to housing, food, clothing, counseling, mentoring, job training, education and referral services.

In contrast to the Browns’ positive polygamy message (to be fair to the Browns, they do discuss the "dark side" of polygamy from time to time, as well), some ex-polygamists have bitter, abusive memories of their time spent in polygamous communities, as viewers will see on tonight’s episode of Sister Wives:

Holding Out HELP describes their appearance on Sister Wives tonight as follows:

Earlier this year, we were invited to join the Brown family with some of the young adults that Holding Out HELP assists for an episode of Sister Wives that airs this Sunday night at 7p.m. MST on TLC. The show did a very good job of contrasting those that we serve coming out of polygamy, and the struggles they face, with what is seen on Sister Wives. Our young adults shared their stories of abuse, abandonment, and the destruction of their families and showed the necessity of the services that Holding Out HELP provides. Please consider watching and seeing firsthand some of the lives that your support of HOH has been assisting – and THANK YOU for continuing to serve and share!

People need to understand that polygamy is NOT all “sister wives” and “big love” or the Dargers. UT, AZ and other states in fact DO "turn a blind eye" to FLDS polygamy where children (girls as young as 12) are married off to much older men and then live off of welfare, food stamps and Medicaid (known as "bleeding the beast")... as discussed in new book "plygs", a fact based journalistic view at the REAL world of polygamy... Warren Jeffs, the leader of this group (serving a life sentence for child rape) has recently ordered that only 15 men in the group can procreate with ANY of the women of their choice within the group… and just 2 weeks ago from his jail cell in TX he has ordered the businesses on the UT/AZ border be closed, apparently predicted an apocalypse and told his followers to build backpacks and be ready to go at a moments notice. He has banned consumption of oatmeal, corn, turnips and dairy products....This ALL after the findings of his journal about a bed ordered to be specially made for the purpose of sexually assaulting hundreds of young girls were outlined in pages of a diary he referred to as 'priesthood records'. He told his followers the bed must be made of hardwood, sturdy so it wouldn't rattle, long enough to hold his frame and covered with a plastic sheet to 'protect the mattress from what will happen on it'.... now a lot of the families from TX have moved out of the ranch... this means that many young girls are being moved across state lines or even across the border to Canada this is human trafficking for sexual reasons... another federal offence... the government does NOT seem to be doing anything at this time...this group in UT / AZ / TX are nothing but pedophiles and welfare cheats...
