Chipotle offering burrito deal for Super Bowl Sunday

If you love throwing a Super Bowl party but hate having to prepare the food, Chipotle is offering to make your life easier Sunday.

The restaurant known for its massive burritos is offering customers a significant discount if they purchase at least six burritos this Sunday. When people purchase packs of burritos in a quantity between six and 100, Chipotle will cover half the bill.

Chipotle has dubbed the special "The Super Big Internationally Televised Professional Football Bowl Game Half Price Party in a Box." Evidently, the company is trying to avoid any trademark infractions by leaving Super Bowl out of the title.

Customers may want to place their orders ahead of time, as those who wait until the last minute may be in danger of missing kickoff. In fact, Chipotle is asking those purchasing 50 or more burritos to place their order at least 24 hours in advance. Those interested can download an order form online by locating the restaurant nearest to them through the Chipotle website.

Chipotle, which started as a single location in 1993, now has more than 1,100 locations across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Customers can choose from carnitas, barbacoa, chicken, steak or vegetarian burritos, and the restaurant also offers burrito bowls without tortillas for those counting carbs.

Of course, health conscious individuals may steer clear of the Chipotle's huge burritos all together. According to the company's website, a chicken burrito with black beans, rice, sour cream and cheese has about 950 calories. However, Chipotle promises to use the freshest of ingredients. According to the company's website, Chipotle's "Food with Integrity" promise ensures the company will find the "very best sustainably raised food possible with an eye to great taste, great nutrition and great value."

Chipotle may be the choice for eaters with healthy appetites, but others may prefer lighter options. As HULIQ reported this week, Weight Watchers has released ideas for Super Bowl recipes that won't ruin your diet. HULIQ also revealed ways to drink, snack and chow down in healthy fashion this Sunday.
