Brooke White, who captured the attention of millions on season 7 of American Idol, is back to creating ear-pleasing music for her fans, and this time, she's getting an assist.

White and singer-songwriter Jack Matranga, who together form Jack and White, released a second EP on Tuesday. The new disc, titled "Winter," will feature four songs and is the follow-up to their 2011 release, "Gemini." The EP will be available exclusively on iTunes for the first week and sells for $2.99.

White burst into the national spotlight as the blonde girl-next-door with the melodic voice on "American Idol." Her moving performances of classics by Carole King, Carly Simon and The Beatles won over fans and propelled her to a fifth place finish that season when David Cook was crowned champion.

Her pairing with Matranga, who previously toured the world with his pop rock band Self Against City, started as a one-song project. Matranga was originally assigned to help White with a track on her solo album. But it soon turned into something more when the two realized the chemistry they shared in the studio.

"When I sat down with Brooke, it was clear from the beginning that all we cared about was creating awesome music and nothing else,” Matranga said in a previous press release. "Songwriting can be labor at times, but we were creating so quickly because we didn’t need to force anything.”

Combining their musical influences, Jack and White released "Gemini" in August. The six-song EP enjoyed high acclaim, reaching top 30 on the iTunes Top Albums list during its first week. The track "Double Trouble" from the album earned iTunes Single of the Week honors.

After months of concerts that spanned California, Arizona and Utah, Jack and White returned to the studio to create "Winter." The duo had their hands in every aspect of the recording process, writing, producing and mixing all four songs on the album.

The pair plans an accompanying set of California concerts to coincide with the release of "Winter." Jack and White will play in Los Angeles on Jan. 27, Hermosa Beach on Jan. 29 and Sacramento, Matranga's hometown, on Feb. 11. Additionally, the duo plans to host a chat and acoustic performance for fans via uStream at 6 p.m. PST Tuesday night.
