ABC News and E! Online are reporting that the actress was treated for dehydration and exhaustion Friday morning, but despite the presence of paramedics, Lohan never required a trip to the hospital. Initial reports of the actress being unconscious have not been confirmed.
Lohan is staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina Del Rey, Calif., where she is filming "Liz & Dick," a movie for the Lifetime network. After a full night of filming from Thursday into Friday morning, Lohan returned to her room to rest. She was reportedly found in the penthouse of the hotel room around 10:15 a.m. PST. This came after a production assistant working on the film repeatedly pounded on Lohan's door without any response from the actress. Worried about her well-being, the assistant called paramedics.
Initial reports indicated that Lohan was taken to the hospital, and the seriousness of her condition was not immediately known. But shortly before noon local time, Lohan's attorney told ABC News that Lohan was "fine." A hospital visit was reportedly not required. A representative for Lohan corroborated that account, saying the actress fell victim to a "grueling schedule" and just needed some rest.
Lohan has a storied history of drug and alcohol use, making multiple trips to rehab with little results. Violations of probation stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction had Lohan in jail on multiple occasions. However, Lohan's rep reported that neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in Friday's episode.
Last week, Lohan, 25, was driving a rented Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway when she crashed into the back of a dump truck. While her vehicle suffered significant damage, Lohan escaped unharmed and reportedly passed a breathalyzer test following the accident. The event turned controversial when the truck driver reported that Lohan's entourage attempted to bribe him with money in exchange for his silence regarding the matter.
Lohan returned to the set of "Liz & Dick" shortly after the crash. The actress is portraying Elizabeth Taylor in the film, and executive producer Larry Thompson told The Hollywood Reporter that Lohan has "certainly lived up to every expectation we have of her."
According to E! Online, Lohan's return to the set was possible as early as later Friday, but no set schedule was in place.
