A woman in Los Angeles was arrested last week after offering McDonald's drive-thru customers sexual favors. But she didn't want money in return. What Khadijah Baseer wanted in return was some Chicken McNuggets.
The 31-year-old woman was investigated for prostitution, cited and released.
Police say Baseer, who panhandles in the area around the McDonald's, was approaching cars in the drive-thru, opening their doors and making the unusual offer to McDonald's customers.
A man, who made it clear that he declined Baseer's offer, tipped off police to the needy woman's trade proposal. The incident occurred Jan. 11 on the 1700 block of Olive Avenue in Burbank, about four miles away from the Bob Hope Airport.
For what its worth, McDonald's is currently offering its 20-piece Chicken McNuggets box for $4.99 in most areas. The item also comes in quantities of four, six and 10, and in some areas, customers can buy a pack of 50.
The story of sex-for-nuggets is not the first criminal activity to occur in a McDonald's drive-thru involving Chicken McNuggets. In 2010, Melodi Dushane of Toledo became enraged when she was told that McDonald's would not serve her McNuggets during breakfast hours. Dushane reached inside the drive-thru window, struck two employees and threw a bottle through the glass.
Dushane, who claimed she was drunk at the time, spent 60 days in jail for the outburst and had to pay McDonald's for the restaurant damage.
Other instances of rage at McDonald's drive-thrus have been well documented. Last October in West View near Pittsburgh, a brawl ensued after a man became impatient while waiting in a McDonald's drive-thru line. At least six people exited cars in line and began fighting. One woman in the melee was struck in the head, sending her into seizures.
It seems you never know what you are going to see in a McDonald's drive-thru.
