Einstein Bros. Bagels has an affordable gift card deal going on for a limited time only--buy $25 worth of Gift Cards, get a $5 Bonus Card free.
The cards are good at all participating Einstein Bros. locations except hotel, college campus and airport stores. The Bonus Cards are good from January 1 through February 28, 2014. In order to qualify for the deal, you must buy the Gift Cards at an Einstein Bros. location near you. Cards in stores are available in denominations up to $500.
So is the deal worth it? Absolutely! It fits a meager budget such as mine, and the $5 Bonus Card can be used to get one or two meals, depending on what you order.
As I've said before, I'm a big fan of the Asiago Cheese Bagels with Reduced-Fat Garlic and Herbs Shmear, and with a $5 Bonus Card I can get two for very little money. Hey, I know what I like, I stick with it, but sometimes something intrigues me and I try that. So if you're not a bagel fan, there's plenty of other options. For example, I'm also a fan of the Bacon and Cheddar Egg Sandwich, as well as the Darn Good Coffee. Speaking of coffee, try the new seasonal Cinnamon Caramel Latte or the Cookie Crumble Latte--you won't be disappointed. My personal favorites are the Winter Blend coffee and the Cookie Crumble Latte, which has real snickerdoodle crumbs.
If you're a vegetarian, Einstein Bros. has several options for you. These include the Spinach, Mushroom and Swiss Egg Sandwich; the Cheese Only Egg Sandwich; the Asparagus, Mushroom and Swiss Egg White Sandwich; the Cheese Pizza Bagel; the Southwest Veggie with Quinoa Soup; and the Veg Out Signature Sandwich.
Allergy notice: several foods at Einstein Bros. contain nuts. These include the Power Protein Bagel; the Strawberry Chicken Salad; the Chicken Salad Sandwich; the Banana Nut Muffin; the Cinnamon Walnut Strudel; the Vanilla Hazelnut Latte; and the Frozen Vanilla Hazelnut Latte.
There have been some recent changes to the food, according to Einstein Bros.--namely, the replacement of sprouts with another vegetable.
"Spinach is the new Sprouts!" reads the Einstein Bros. web page. "You might have noticed that we made a slight change to a few of our recipes. We have replaced sprouts with fresh spinach to provide even more health benefits in our products. Spinach is a super food and an excellent source of bone-healthy vitamin K, magnesium; heart-healthy folate, potassium; and free radical fighting vitamin C and E. It also contains anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer causing benefits due to the high amount of phytonutrients and anti-oxidants."
