De-Clutter Like You Are Moving

Decluttering a house

We are in the business of selling homes, and when someone moves, we know ther's lots of de-cluttering that goes on. Well, Springtime is here and this is typically the time of year that many homeowners spend some time to de-clutter their house.

Well, here's a tip. De-clutter your home like your are moving to another house.

It is uplifting to feel refreshed and that goes for your home too.

We are not talking about dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing and letting the sun shine in with clean windows. What we are talking about is de-cluttering or purging as if you were going to move.

Start with your closets. Donate anything that you haven't worn in years. We understand sentimental value, but if you don’t wear it, let it go!

If you are lucky enough to have an office. Clean it up. Clear away all those papers on the top of your desk that you really don't need and you don't ever look at. Next, the file cabinets. Why are you saving all those unused flyers. After all, isn't it rumored that one day we will be a paperless society. Start now.

The basement is another place that could use some sorting out. If it's like most of the basements we have seen, it's a catch-all for everything you don't use and you probably don't need. Grab your trash bags and start filling them up. Just think of the time and stress you will save when you can find what you are looking for!

Get your home ready by cleaning and organizing everything for those delightful Springtime and Summer days.

Take the first step - They don’t call it “Spring Cleaning” for nothing!

We moved last year and cleaned out, took loads to the dump and to the donation center. There was still tons to move. Do we really need it all?
