2011 Dodge Charger Factory Images And Info

Michael Sheena's picture

Finally we have some real images of the 2011 Dodge Charger to pore over.

The 2011 Dodge Charger definitely has more of a sinister face. Combined with a "Coke bottle" design for the body, the 2011 model is a very nice update that makes the Charger both more elegant and more aggressive. Adding to the look is a 164 LED array for the taillamp design.

2011 Dodge Charger's Improved Interior Should Address Major Issues With Outgoing Model

In the press release, Chrysler loves to talk about the improved interior, but the company is not sharing any photos for us to examine. Therefore, we are going to have to take their word for it. There is the promise of soft touch plastics, laminated front and side glass and a unique approach to sound management. Chrysler says that they not simply deaden the sound in the Charger's cabin but tuned it instead. From what we can tell, we think that means letting in all the "good" noises like a meaty roar of the engine accelerating but banishing unwanted wind and tire noise.

Of course, the new 3.6-liter Pentastar engine is on hand and the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 is available for those who want more power under their foot. The AWD system maintains its innovate active transfer case. We really like this feature because it allows for the disconnection of the front axle when extra traction is not needed which improves handling characteristics and also fuel economy by up to five percent

When it comes to safety, there is the usual umbrella of electronic nannies. We really like a couple of the names, Ready-alert Braking and Rainy Day Brake Support. We presume this means that the brake lines are pre-charged in case of an imminent impact and that the pads will dry themselves when the wipers are used.

You can expect all this goodness at your local dealer in the latter part of this year.
