Sons of Guns is back with a new season premiere tonight, honoring the memory of those who were lost in the 9/11 massacre, and speculating on just how the later attack on Osama bin Laden’s compound went down.
Sons of Guns is back for a new season on the Discovery Channel, starting with an episode honoring those who fell to the hatred of 9/11 and Osama bin Laden.
Chris Kyle is a former Navy Seal; one of the greatest snipers in United States history; and he is a guest on Sons of Guns’ premiere episode this season.
The Red Jacket team is building a modified weapon approaching the gun believed to have killed Osama bin Laden, and Kyle agrees to help, although he makes it clear that some of their questions will go unanswered.
“Chris done assured me that there is a lot he ain’t never gonna say, but we are gonna take it as close as we can,” Will said.
“We’re gonna build the Osama bin Laden compound, and I’m gonna throw his gangly a@@ out of a helicopter,” he told the Red Jacket team.
“Already getting’ the nightmares,” Kyle said as everyone laughed. “So, I’m no joke jumpin’ out of a helo?”
“Oh, you’re coming outta the bird. You can have a rope if you want, but you’re gonna be exiting,” Will assured him.
“I didn’t pack my cape, so let’s do the rope,” Kyle joked.
Kyle affirmed that it is typical for a specialist to customize his own weapon.
“Each operator, his individual weapon, he will make it his own,” Kyle explained.
“He’ll personalize it. When my life’s on the line, I’m gonna pull that weapon, I know how it feels, I know how it’s gonna act. You’re putting complete trust in that weapon, and you take care of it.”
Kyle had a range of modifications for the weapon, and Will and the team were happy to oblige; see it all unfold tonight, on the season premiere of Sons of Guns.
Oh, and Flem volunteered to be the “rope master” on the helo jump; wonder if Kyle would have been as quick to accept the offer if it had come from the ever-eager Kris?
